Dear Friends and Family,
I told you about five of the faithful men of East Africa Outreach I visited with while in Uganda and Rwanda. Let me add to that three more faithful men so that you can know how to pray for them.
Bernard Musukwa Wilondja is married to Esther and they live in Kampala, the capital of Uganda. He pastors Kitende Baptist Church and has a one year weekend Bible Institute for preparing servants for the ministry. He and I started UBC in Buhimba together. I stepped aside and Bernard continued to pastor the church while preparing Alex to eventually become the pastor. For a number of years Bernard has wanted to go back to his homeland of Democratic Republic of Congo to minister. He does travel there two or three times a year to minister to pastors who have had no formal training for the ministry. His desire now is to go to a town right on the Congo/Burundi border at the top of Lake Tanganyika called Uvira. He plans to go there in October to seek information and make some decisions relative to a future ministry in Uvira. Pray for him for wisdom and a sensitivity to the Holy Spirit.
Ignace is married and has two children. He is the pastor of Berea Baptist Church in Butare (Huye) Rwanda. The church was planted two years ago and is growing. Ignace and I did the preparatory work for a local English BI to begin in January. We met with five prospective students. Pray for many students that can read, write and understand English. Ignace has purchased land in a neighboring town called Cyangugu for a future church to be planted. Pray for a faithful man to help Ignace plant the church and be the pastor. We have one man that says he is ready to go. He speaks English, Swahili and Kinyarwanda and already has his Bible training and some ministry experience. Pray for wisdom.
Ntakiyende Sadock is the last faithful man I will tell you about today. He is married and has two children. They live in Kigali, the capital of Rwanda. Sadock graduated from a good Independent Baptist Bible College in Kampala, Uganda. He has experience pastoring, managing a radio station and preaching on the radio. Through his radio preaching he has established Bible studies with radio listeners that have gotten saved in four of the ten population centers we are targeting in Rwanda. He has established a Kinyarwanda BI with 12 men who also are believers that got saved through his radio preaching. He has sent nine more that got saved back to the Bible College he attended to study in English. The radio station he was preaching on is no longer broadcasting so he has not been preaching on the radio for almost a year. He rides a circuit on the bus to minister to the believers he has reached and discipled. While in Rwanda we were able to get him back on the air with a different station for $300 per month. He has three hour programs and three 15 minute programs that repeat multiple times. We bought him a motorcycle and named it Gideon after the circuit rider’s horse in the video “Sheffey”. Now he can visit more people and places in less time. Sadock is able to minister in English, French and Kinyarwanda. Pray for wisdom and strength as this man is doing so many things at one time. Pray for funds to buy land and build a building there in Kigali for a church and BI.
This is part two of our September prayer letter. Part three with photos will come soon. Please pray faithfully for laborers and resources to reach the country of Rwanda.
