Tony and Kathy Stark |

|
Tony Stark was born in Caraway, Arkansas, but grew up in Aurora, Illinois. Kathy was born and grew up in Rockford, Illinois. They met in Macomb, Illinois, at Western Illinois University in 1969. They were married January 3, 1970. Tony graduated from WIU that same year, and they moved back to Aurora. They joined and became involved in Banbury Road Baptist Church in North Aurora, Illinois. God added to their family first with Laura and then Russell. Kathy and Tony started taking night classes at Moody Bible Institute in Chicago. In December, 1974 the Lord called Tony to preach ; so in 1975 they moved to Chattanooga, Tennessee, to attend Temple Theological Seminary. Tony pastored in Monteagle, Tennessee while in Seminary, but, in 1977, he was called to pastor New Union Baptist Church in Manchester, Tennessee. The next year the Lord added to their family with Jennifer. God impressed upon Tony Ephesians 3:20,21, and that would motivate him and encourage him for days to come. In 1982 the Lord led the Starks on a journey from Tennessee to California and back in search of the place God would have them start a new church. The following year the Lord added to the family again, and this time it was Sheila. The Stark family settled in Madison, Alabama in 1983 to start Madison Baptist Church. It was a dream come true in so many ways. God had given Tony a vision, and now He was fulfilling it. The Lord added Tony Andrew to the family in 1988. Pastor Stark and two laymen from the church visited missionaries in West Africa. The Lord used that trip to put the people of Africa in Tony's heart. He resigned as pastor of Madison Baptist Church, and, in 1990, the church sent the Starks to Uganda, Africa, to establish East Africa Outreach. God had given Tony another vision and is now fulfilling it. In 2004 God led Tony and family back to the USA so that nationals in East Africa could take more leadership. He travels to minister in Uganda twice a year and also pastors Hendrix Road Baptist Church in Florence, AL. To God be the glory, great things He has done and is doing. |
