History

In 1988 Tony Stark, pastor of Madison Baptist Church, visited missionaries in West Africa. After returning to the US he advised his church that God was calling him to be a missionary to Africa.

With one year of deputation Brother Stark and his family left for Uganda. They were sent by Madison Baptist Church, Madison, Alabama, as the first Independent Baptist missionaries to Uganda.

Even though they were going to Uganda, they decided to call their new ministry East Africa Outreach because they felt that someday they would cross the borders into neighboring countries.

Other missionaries were sent by Madison Baptist Church but presently Mark Wallace and his family are the only residing missionaries with EAO.  Brother Stark joins the Wallaces to minister in Uganda twice a year for three to four weeks.

Today there are forty churches and missions in Uganda with one in the Congo and three in Sudan.  These churches are pastored by nationals who have graduated from Uganda Baptist Bible Institute.
